I enjoy a roast, but don’t see why it has to be a Sunday thing. I often prepare it for us both, and don’t mind the effort required. It’s not that challenging really, just timing like most cooking.

The cooking is easy. It’s serving it, eating it and in particular washing up afterwards

Washing up afterwards?
Surely that happens beforehand from last time you used it?

I saw U2 when they played Belfast in 1997 (or ‘98). They were very full of themselves and, with the exception of Suspicious Minds, the music was mediocre at best.

I lived in Dublin in the 80s and 90s and always hated U2. Now *that* was an unpopular opinion at the time...

Love a roast, although possibly controversially, I prefer to have a roast without the meat at all. Just give me a big plate of veg, roast potatoes, Yorkshire puddings, stuffing and gravy and I'm happy as Larry.
Oh, and I've never understood the U2 hype at all!

On Sunday visits to venerable relatives in Bradford, dinner started with Yorkshire pudding cut from a square tray and soused with rich, dark gravy. Next, the joint [often brisket] was carved and served, with roast & mashed potatoes and traditional veg - oh, and more gravy! The older the diner, the sooner she or he was snoozing in a chair!
