If I said Sørøstløper people would think I was taking the mick like Mötley Crüe :) I hope to add an Iceland badge to my collection before too long. There is a badge for adding open-water swimming locations and I would have thought there are some nice hot pools worth a mention!

I don't think a warm swimming pool counts as open-water, Steve :D I'm not sure that the hot baths at Mývatn or the blue lagoon are open water as they are more or less man-made and carefully monitored (only the hot water is "natural"). Nothing open about them if you look at the entry-price!

Ooh I don't know, if it is listed in Rough Guide to take a dip it should count :) roughguides.com Maybe we should ask Fetch to clarify whether hot mud counts as an open water location ;) for the swimming database.

Goodness, I wouldn't go near the hot mud unless I had a very good plastic surgeon on hand!

Our outdoor pools and even the blue lagoon type places are more like lidos than proper open-water swimming. There are a few hardy souls that go into the fjörd locally and there is a slightly warmer beach in Reykjavík (because it gets hot water run-off from electricity production) but I don't like badges that much!

On the subject of badges, I'm up for MoM... just saying...
