Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

I've done longer events on the SDW - Trailwalker (four finishes), the Beachy Head Marathon, and 90+ miles of the first running of the SDW100. I love it, it's completely different from *here* but has a unique sort of loveliness. Never been on the NDW to my knowledge.

I've done 3 BHM and really enjoyed them. The 30k (off-topic) race on the ND I did twice was great too

I don't think I've done an ultra this year but will be back next year with Hardmoors 30, Haworth Hobble, Calderdale Hike and the Lakeland 100 in my sights

Three Ultra's finished (Peddars Way, Highland Fling and Speyside Way), but ironically the one I DNF'd was the furthest I've ever travelled, just under 60 miles and the longest time on feet, nearly 20.5 hours.

Peddars Way, 31st January 2015, will be next and also my last.

It's taken about five years, but I just don't enjoy (!) being on the go for more than 4-5 hours, so marathon distance will be my limit.

Nope, DT, to continue would have been stupid and a risk to myself and others.

I just don't embrace the macho pain bullshit. Running is a hobby, a pastime, I'm not in a competition with anyone, I run to have fun and nuke calories.

Oh yes, just got her back from the yard after doing some work on her. New improved Bacon Boat. Come along DT, you will love it. Some haribo managed to get dished out as well.

Slight hiccup this year when the butcher gave me someone elses order so I didn't get the right amount or the right quality stuff, only realised on the morning of the race when I cracked open the first bag. Not very happy but managed to muddle through.

Haha, enter the race V'rap, you will love the NDW, the first 50 miles are pretty spectacular. The bacon's a welcome bonus.
