Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

*any run that has the name "hard" in its title sounds too scary to ever consider - is there one called the "ever so slightly downhill on good terrain with free tea and scones ultra"?

Ok, maybe £1/mile should be the top end, the threshold beyond which value for money disappears.

Incredible value that Hardmoors series!

The Wall, (69 miles) is £155 to £230 for soloists depending on option... And Race To The Stones, (100k) will set you back £119 to £184 depending on options

Both also have additional "hidden costs" for parking and shuttle buses back to the start :-O

I'm only teasing Frobs. Different races, have different aims. For some people it is their source of income, so need to make a profit. Other's are runners, putting on events for runners. It's not comparing like with like. However, just because a race is put on to make a profit is no indication of quality. Some of the most cost effective races are also the best quality. :)
