Thanks Sam, without doubt the hardest race I’ve ever ran. It’s crowded, there’s a lot of pushing and shoving, queuing seems to be for losers🤣 but if you can put that aside, the rest of it more than makes up.
Sorry Gromit and NDW didn’t have the races they were hoping for.

Pushing and shoving? Don't like the sound of that. I'm far too wimpy 😉Well done Macca!

Well done Macca, superb effort. Sorry to hear about the pushing and shoving, I've never experienced that in any of the UTMB races that I've done. Admittedly the last one was in 2016, so perhaps I'm no longer qualified to comment. What I will say sort of echos what FF said in an earlier post - all the UTMB races are phenomenal experiences and I loved taking part, standing on the start line in Chamonix or Courmayeur you know you're part of something big.
So please Fenners, don't think it's hell, it's subjective. I see you've entered the L100 again today and while I wish you well and hope you get round this time, the UTMB is a far, far bigger experience and if embraced, will be out of this world - and this is from someone who (as you know) has an ongoing love affair with the Lake District

Scotland is bigger than the Lakes but for me doesn't have the romance.

Can’t say I witnessed any shoving but the boo’s when runners tried to push ahead of the queue or not follow the path and just walk in a straight line up the mountains became quite an entertaining pantomime, it’s a race everyone should experience if you have the chance to 👍

I don't think I expressed myself very well in my last post. I was trying to say it would be a mistake just to dismiss the UTMB as something bad, until experienced it's hard to grasp how spectacular the whole thing is. Of course races like the L100 are also massive, and in Fenners' case I understand totally why it's a target.

Fenners, what do you mean Scotland doesn't have the romance?! West Highland Way can be quite romantic! Better than a wet weekend in Aberdeen and you did that in March 😉

Well done Macca. 5 weeks after LL100 is itself a note worthy. I was following yourself and Mattykay of this parish and at one point last night you were minutes apart and no doubt oblivious! Well done both I think you finished about half an hour apart.
