So would I. I have consistent waking times (1 am, 3 am, 4 am, 5 am) but rarely feel refreshed when I get up at 5:45

Consistent as in same(ish) every day, not wildly different depending on weather/mood/when your first meeting is/accidentally staying up all night bingeing on Netflix. Something I have yet to achieve at any point in my adult life and doubt I really achieved as a kid either. Shall try and find some links... |

Magic, thanks. Yes, I got that you meant getting up at same time and going to bed too. I do that so I wanted to know how it was meant to help. (bed 10ish, up 6.15 each day - rock n roll!) Unfortunately, I also have the westmoors issue - a male age thing for me - at least 3 times sometimes 4 or 5! But I sort of sleep walk to loo and back to bed without waking! G |

That link is actually saying that regular times for going to bed and waking up are a good way to get "adequate" sleep. And that adequate sleep is important for avoiding exhaustion and other health benefits. So the consistency isn't a goal in itself, just a way of achieving adequate duration. I sleep well because of most of the other things I think - I don't nap, I don't do brain taxing things in last hour or two before bed, I don't eat or drink stimulating things close to bed time etc. G |

I don't do the other things much either, but I do have wildly inconsistent sleep times, and frequently feel exhausted (though I admit this could be as much mental as physical, but if it's psychosomatic and regularising my sleep just has a placebo effect then the result would still be that I feel better, so I'll call that a win) so hopefully a bit of regularity will make all the difference.

Wow runnyeyes. I'm always so impressed with anyone who does DIY, as I'm rubbish and don't do it. More so if it's for someone else! Raemond, hope you can get some regular patterns and it helps you to get some sleep. It's sooooo important, especially for anyone training, as you mostly build the strength from the training while you are sleeping at night. More you train, more you should sleep! G |

Got our very well known housebuilders to back down after about 2 months of them fobbing us off and refusing to do the work as it should be (changing their reasons every time). Our next step was seeking legal advice and speaking with planning enforcement team but dont have to after some carefully worded emails and well framed questions. Massive win for us. |
