Morning. Welcome to February.
January was going quite well at one point, then I got chickenpox. Yes, really.
Anyway, seriously curtailed sausage:
Swim: they wouldn't have let me in the pool with those spots
Bike: 26 minutes, 5 miles
Run: 7:08 30 miles.
Twenty-odd miles of walking, a bit of gym class.
DVD extras: spots then scabs, but you really wouldn't want to see them on DVD.

This was not the January I was looking for
Run 4:48:40 30.3 Bike 17:07:59 265.8 Karate Yoga Gym 45:42:53 Total 67:39:32 Rest Days 7 of which a number were spent in bed!! Races missed 2 national championships
What can I say really, many will be surprised to see the hours I did do but given Yoga and Karate dont really raise my HR (unless I do Kumite and frankly I didnt) I was able to train earlier than other efforts.
I ran 8 time, all with the spaniel and nothing remotely bordering on hard. When you are seeing zone 2 HR for an effort you were running for 20 beats less there is no desire to push
The bike, mainly indoors, exceptions the depressing 20 mins that proved I wasnt riding BC Nationals, the yearly family trip to Hicks Lodge. (we do others but we always do a January). Lastly I risked a trip to Afan where again I deliberately rode within myself, there was one climb effort and really I shouldnt have bothered.
It's Feb, I have no mileage or hour targets this year and although I have entered 2 events my confidence is low so I've entered nothing else. I have a chest xray tomorrow. My head is holding me back as every remote hard effort since mid December has seen me coughing and ending up on courses of Antibiotics. I guess I need a doctor to say there is nothing wrong to give me the confidence to push.
As they say
Jog on !!

Sosij (yes that's how the cafe in Bristol spelt it. Hipsters.) Run 38.1 well, run walk with changing intervals to more run and less walk.
swim 0.6 mile. I can remember how.
Bike 82.4 Tour de Zwift mostly. Got roped into a ZRL race, set a working max HR and got to it in the first 2 mins. Worked bloody hard for 35/39. Depressing. Have angered The Cough and have been worse for the last few days. Frustrating.
Walk 64 Yoga - 4.75 hrs - this is what I could do! Strength - 1 hr, 2 sessions.
DVD extras - Free work gym joined. Got a zwift foot pod thingy so I can look at Zwift while dreadmilling.
Goal for February - get round Wokingham half. Run more of it than I walk. Regular LTUAPTDA. Finally get clear of The Cough.
