Continuous is I believe you swim the full distance, bike the full distance then run. Breaks you factor in yourself. But you have to complete the full swim before starting etc.

The other format you do one IM per day (in under 17 hours), then get up next morning and repeat for the required number of days, 5, 10 etc.

Both insane…..

Rather everyone else than me, on that front... a truly monumental (emphasis on the mental) undertaking, Mussers.

I’ve been running, after a fashion. It was monumentally wet. Fun though.

In this one the daily time limit is 23:45. Not going to be much fun for anyone pushing the time limits.

Can't face putting a cold wetsuit on at 6:30 everyday so the daily format is not for me. I think both are as hard as each other in different ways. It's a flat course which should mean the mileage ticks off quick but means no respite.

The deca has been in my brain for a long time and assuming health and fitness I will get one done one day.

So you race from 6:30 to 23:45 (max) each day until done?

You’ll need good crew, makes a big difference.

Ive had occasional urges to do a double, but have been smart enough to resist.

Good luck! Keep us posted!

No the time limit for each day is 23:45 so 15 mins before next IM starts if you are doing the 1 a day. Sorry if I didn't make that clear.

In the Continuous you have to manage your rest and the organisers will force you too if you dont. Need to make a plan on pacing and resting.
