Well done Glenn. I did 2hrs last night (24km on treadmill numbers). Tired today. Going to have Monday as rest then two big tri training weeks in harbour. Aiming for 2x 100km plus rides, over 10hrs total, and my 'friend' is making me do "Swim Workouts for Triathletes" from the book.

The Mussile
Outlaw Half @ Bowood yesterday. Lovely swim (but slow for me), Picturesque, fast but challenging bike and the vilest run ever. Fell apart on the run probably due to under-hydration on the bike and went from a probable 5:30-5:45 to finishing in 6:22 due to having to walk lots of the 'run' due to stomach cramps. Sometimes completion is a victory in itself. Haven't been able to train properly for a few reasons in the last 8 weeks so not that disappointed Start was delayed by 30 mins which meant we got extra traffic on the bike leg and the midday sun on the run. This was my second Outlaw and they definitely do not disappoint as an organiser and are more than a valid alternative to the evil empire |

Well done! Sticking it out when feeling like crap is an awesome achievement. I'm not at all eyeing up LCW Belgium in 12 days time... Can't do it, though, because Sam is off volunteering for an ultra in the ardennes and I've got a rugby match on the Sunday. |

Evil Empire is the IM corporation Gobi. I don't like the way they treat their athletes and my worst tri race experience was at an IM event.

I've never been drawn to the IM brand - possibly nothing to do with the organisation itself and more because of wankers with Mdot tattoos thinking they're Om's gift to sportsing the whole 'Iron girl' thing was pretty shit, too, but at least they realised they'd cocked up and apologised for it. Also IM events seem to cost about twice as much as anything else, and I've never understood why. Anywho - PDP. IBRSOAPFMITMS. |
