Evening. I’ve been swimming. Just me and Sue in the pool. It was magnificent.

Groovy.

We’re still at home, not camping in Comrie. Combination of piss-poor weather forecast, a touch of the sinus-lurgy and a potentially broken Landrover conspired to have us stay at home, where I’ve been sleeping on the sofa for the last half hour.

Ran a worst for 3 years 1500m today, 4:40.4. Pace for first lap was perfect at the front but I was off the back cos it felt hard! Probably because as part of COVID procedures we were held for over 30 mins in high jump area and not allowed to warm up on track till 5 mins before race (today was in Leamington rather than Nuneaton which has different procedures).

Given I ran 4:28.28 two days after an 800 a couple of weeks ago and have run PBs over 800 and 3000, I know it's not representative so a little annoying but not worried. I did consider whether I'm over raced as I've done 4 over the last 3 weekend. It's not ideal, but I think don't think that was an issue.

Turned day into a workout day by doing a session on track after. 4 x (400m @ ~1500 pace, 200m jog, 200m @ ~800 pace, 3 mins rest). Rep times 69.0, 33.5, 68.0, 33.0, 66.2, 32.0, 66.5, 31.5
so all on (I'm allowing myself to claim the .5 on the first 200 ;-) ) or faster than intended pace (70, 33) so safe to say legs are good.

Bad luck SPR

Tested, 10 miles SC in 22:18. Solid ride but pleased with the tweaked position; got power out and ok in the wind despite going narrower.

Fast 25 tomorrow. Go away wind!

Happy days! Testing is marvellous.

Commiserations to SPR, but you know it'll get better.
Nice one TRO.

'Yoga in a hotel toilet' :-O :-) :-)

I did long ride of 60+M as a tester of where I am for Hever at the end of the month. All went well till I realised I hadn't brought enough to fuel and bonked spectacularly at about 51 miles. Finally HTFU and made it home, but lesson learned hopefully. I'd 've been really sh*t at running a HM off the back of that. CBA to even try and do a short brick run :-(

Cstar- I always found it helpful to set a timer on my watch for day every 15/20 mins to remember to eat/drink. Or try to eat on 15/45 mins and drink on 0/30 mins if that makes sense ?

MA my head if very full of goo, but and feeling a bit better than yesterday 👍
