The Scribbler
I'm just getting back into swimming again and struggled a bit with an easy swim at the pool after work. Am finding I get a lot of congestion after swimming and water in my ears so will be looking for earplugs. Any recommendations?

There seem to be 2 different styles of ear plug - one which is kinda ear shaped and others which are shaped like a christmas tree. I can only vouch for the ear shaped ones but they all seem to be much of a muchness - I buy whatever happens to be cheapest on wiggle at the time: zoggs/maru/finis all do a good job. No idea about the xmas tree ones, they look a bit less friendly to me! |

When I use them I partake of the Boots own brand wax sort. boots.com Ah, I've just realised they say "do not exceed 3 uses". Hmm. |

I managed to perforate my eardrum a couple of years ago (don't ask) and stopped swimming for a while. I was still struggling when I went body boarding in Cornwall, so bought something that looked very similar to the Boots product posted by Ginge, from a surf shop. I only use the one, and it has worked perfectly for years. I had no idea you weren't supposed to only use them 3 times!!!
