Lammo I can echo sweets on TrainerRoad. Really good bit of software, takes all the faff out of it and there are tons and tons of different sessions on there from 30 mins to a few hours long. You can use pretty much any turbo and a speed/cadence sensor to get virtual power. The plans are excellent and Ive seen real progress when Ive stuck to them.

Inspired by TRO flying the flag for the hotel and the country yesterday*, I have been for a leisurely 5k in the sunshine with SWMBO. Very civilized it was too.
* In terms of representing one's country, it was right up there with Lyth's 8 not out

Hello all. I did one of those CSS tests on Friday. Shows how serious I am to train properly this winter (and how rubbish my swimming is). However, I have a question about cycling. I am fortunate enough to be able to cycle in daylight all through the winter. But is there a benefit to still doing some sessions on the turbot? More controlled, more reproducible?

CC , I think the turbot is better for intervals etc - much safer than doing so on the road

I agree with fraggers (although I mostly cycle indoors in the winter anyway, on account of being fed up of falling off on the ice)

Indoor cycling you can ride through an ocean, a volcano and now some Mayan ruins on Zwift. Outside you get cold, wind, rain, ice and drivers that want to kill you #easydecision
