Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Loads of chainsaw noise this evening at about 8pm. Assumed it was a neighbour but it was actually railway workers outside our house. Had a look on network rail and the railway line is blocked due to a fallen tree...

I feel I should give praise where it is due - applied for my season ticket refund from Northern Rail today. Heard within the hour that it will be passed for processing, backdated to 25th March. I may not get the money for 5-6 weeks but that doesn't bother me too much. Just quite impressed to get such a swift, personal email in response.

that's good news AL

I'm also giving kudos to Northern rail, been travelling to and from work as usual and the trains have been clean and on time and really quiet!

Tonight's train has got out of use bands round some of the seats to encourage social distancing

Shocking service from Southwestern this morning. Basically a Sunday service on a full working week. What’s their excuse this time? Strike Finished last Saturday. I think they just can’t be arsed running a railway anymore.

Southeastern had a mare today with power supply problems causing major issues. Given that it is school holidays and I’m on holiday too this would ordinarily not have been an issue for us, but my Mother-in-law needed to get to Paddington for the Heathrow Express. Ended up with a bus to North Greenwich, Jubilee Line to Baker St, and Bakerloo to Paddington. Luckily I could escort her as I’m not sure she would have coped on her own. Fortunately she got to LHR with plenty of time to spare (although a bit later than she’d wanted)
