Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

This might become my top watched thread! Today's morning train was the standard 'on time until Castlefield, sit in queue of trains, 15 minutes late'. Train home was ok tonight. Cancelled last night...

My trip last night involved me getting on a train at Manchester Oxford Road, waiting about 10 minutes, then tannoy announcing there was no driver.

Pretty sure someone had left the engine running anyway (they’re diesels).

Anyway it was fine, went to a different platform to catch the stopping version of the same train and although it was late, and slower, I wasn’t epically late for me tea 😋

The whole of yesterday, Thameslink was buggered due to 'damage to overhead power lines'. Their website advised: do not travel.

The whole of today, Thameslink was buggered due to 'broken down train'. Their website advised: do not travel.

To what extent can Thameslink be called an actual travel company?

you'd think TL would have a plan for dealing with a broken down train that went beyond cancelling almost everything for over 12 hours.

Broken down train between Liverpool and Warrington. Non arriving train crew on the homeward bound service out from Manchester. So much for leaving early....
