I'm injured... Shin splints - probably more likely chronic compartment syndrome. I've had it before, it will pass with some rest etc. I've also managed to hurt my lower back, so can't get on my bike... So I need to do some stretching - just started doing some Yoga so that should help together with some specific lower leg stuff. And I'm going to put some more effort into the gym and weight training (to compliment the endurance stuff not replace it). Currently I just try and remember what weight I did last time, but I'm going to increase the volume a bit... And I'd like to track my progress. So, is there a Gym specific App (Android) that's not too expensive? I've downloaded Alpha Progression, which looks pretty good. However the paid for version is £9 a month or £57 a year... No I don't mind paying for it if I need to but it's likely to be used less frequently when I can restart running etc. So, is there anything less expensive that anyone would recommend? I could use an excel spreadsheet via one drive if needs must. |

How about you write down what you need it to do, and I'll see if it's something I can make for you and for all Fetchies. For free

My Gym uses Technogym equipment which links to the MyWellness app. Each machine has a QR code you can scan and automatically records the reps and weights (or speeds and distances for cardio machines). You can also manually add exercises and weights very quickly for non-machine exercises. My gym has its own app that links to MyWellness so I've not used the MyWellness app myself but I believe it is free.

Thought about that to Autumnleaves but that means flicking back through sessions to see where I was last time, and to be totally honest I'm far too lazy for that! Ian, just something that an exercise, sets/reps and weight can be recorded against with some kind of metric that shows improvement. I guess the problem would be that there's probably many hundreds of different exercises and more than a few with be referred to by different names! I guess others would want differing sessions (training different body parts on different days) and rest between sets etc. but I'm just a simple lad! |
