Small world indeed. No T shirt, though

'87 was with Bon Jovi headlining, I was there that year too, and in '88 for Iron Maiden (the year when two fans got crushed to death ).
Berlin was great, I went with my brother; we'd spent the week before staying with a mate who was working in Dachau, and we got there on a coach from Munich bus station, we were the only English folks on the bus.
The Levellers gig would have been fantastic! I saw them in '92 and '93. Also saw the Manics in '92 on the Generation Terrorists tour. Oh and Metallica in '86 on the Master of Puppets tour with Anthrax supporting; that was a week before the coach crash which killed Cliff Burton.

I used to have so many tour T shirts. Mostly all gone to the great duster bag in the sky now

Berlin was great. I had just finished university and hired a car with two friends in Ostend and drove overnight to get there. Couldn't find a hotel so slept in the car in some bit of East Berlin. The night of the gig we found an ex-East German party hotel place and stayed there, then drove back the next day. Madness.

Ha! Yeah 87 was Bon Jovi, Dio, Metallica, Anthrax, WASP, Cinderella. I saw Metallica on the Damage Inc Tour, Saturday, September 20 ‘86 Birmingham Odeon. Dan Spitz was pissed & fell over during his guitar solo. Hetfield had broken his arm so John Marshall their roadie & Armoured Saint guitarist filled in on rhythm. Brian Tatler joined them for Am I Evil. Remember it well, a year to the day After seeing Gary Moore at the same venue.

I remember we'd crossed the border on the coach from old West to East Germany on the way there; it was baking hot, and the coach stopped for a break. We got cold drinks, the Germans all got bratwurst.
Later on we were in a queue of traffic heading towards Berlin, and a Vauxhall Nova with a British number plate went flying past everyone driving on the wrong side of the road. When we did get there, our coach driver, being German and knowing the place well, parked in a convenient side street just down from the Brandenburg Gate

I remember Hetfield having his arm in a sling. They'd all shown up at the Highwayman rock night the week before, my mates went and I missed it

Very bad pics, but here's my 'tallica shirt from Sonisphere 2009. It was Hetfield's birthday the day before they played, so the crowd sang for him and someone (possibly one of his kids?) pied him in the face with a ' birthday cake').
I bought the shirt at the very last minute as my mate and I were driving out of the parking area, so I strongly suspect it's not an official one, and the chap only had huge sizes left so I immediately cut it up to make it more me.
