Talking about Hunter Dai, apparently him and Fuglsang had a minor scuffle yesterday. A couple of punches to the ribs etc.....

Not sure Hunter was too impressed with his lead out man Dean finishing ahead of him in yesterdays sprint...definite glare across at him as they crossed the line.
Just a thought on Cav.....Greipel got roundly mocked for similar performances at the Giro, so is it a Cav problem or an HTC problem? I've never seen their train look so hesistant in the last few kms, not really wanting to take charge, not really covering others. Have they just not got the firepower they had last year and coupled with Cav being 95% it's all going horribly wrong?

Lol - surely that's Hunter's faullt for not being fast enough? He's meant to come from out of teh slipstream and win the stage, and if the leadout man wants him to win, then he's got to last for as long as possible!

Who is the sprinter at Garmin? A few years ago it was Julian Dean, then Tyler came through the ranks, and now they've got Robbie Hunter. Seem a bit sprinter heavy if you ask me.

Renshaw has been shouldering the blame for yesterday according to BBC feed:
The HTC-Columbia rider said: "I hit the front a bit early, which is my fault. I probably could have kept him off the front a little longer."
Hmm smacks of excuses by the team for Cav not being up to scratch, last year Cav didn't always need to use Renshaw and shot off himself a couple of times to win I seem to recall? Anyway tis the measure of a true great as to how they react to the times when they aren't quite at top level, so let's wait and see. I wouldn't write him off, but he will need more guile and less trusting in his legs to deliver the goods.

I think Cav needs to sharpen up yes, but I think Petacchi and Lampre rode really well. Hondo's burst upset both Cervelo and HTC, then Petacchi sat in and pounced early. If I remember rightly his two wins at the Giro where he beat Cav last year he got in front early, and from there was uncatchable.

Last year in a similar finish Cav would have been unbeatable. His heart didn't look in it yesterday. I wonder if he feels he's so far behind in the green jersey points that he's lacking drive? I suspect he's not on top form either after his crash earlier in the year.
I reckon if he doesn't win a stage soon he'll drop out, probably not before the alps but likely before the pyranees.
