Grammar pedants - help please.

Now, as this is not punctuated, we could interpret this as either: 1. A warning to drivers to take care and drive slowly because there are children around. 2. A reminder to children that they need to drive slowly. 3. Telling adults that children have a tendency to drive slowly.

A very large majority of the members is in favour of the project and can be presumed to have given money or other support. A small minority does not support it and may or may not have given something. So how do we express the thought "we are grateful to ourselves"? It can be got around if the building committee states its gratitude, or if we say that we are grateful to God; but those are not the thoughts I want to express.
