I had a look at where you are on the route map, and it appears that you are in Nottinghamshire. Not only that, but you are just a mile or so outside the village of Harby, the place where Queen Eleanor of Castile died on 28 November 1290. This is the Eleanor of the Eleanor Crosses fame, her bereathed husband Edward I erecting the crosses at each overnight stop of her body's procession from Harby to Westminster. en.wikipedia.org and en.wikipedia.org

Before you (and other Fetchies) got to Peterborough, you'd have passed through Norman Cross, but that isn't one of the Eleanor Crosses. Norman Cross was the site of a prison camp for French POWs over 200 years ago. en.wikipedia.org Of course, in my previous post, Edward I wasn't "bereathed", but bereaved.

I'd planned to end with a magnificent 15-20 mile hike, but doing more than I'd planned the last couple of days meant that a couple of roundabout trips to the shops was all I needed. Life will change - it always does when I finish the summer challenge. My personal challenge is to finish about 50th but I've never managed to restrain myself. Seventh this year is unlikely to be repeated though.
