I’ve noticed that the more you solve the harder they get. So once my rating gets over 1200 they get harder and it drops down to 1100 again. I rarely get all 5 each day, most days 3/5.

No penalty for slow correct puzzle solutions, but higher scores for quick correct solutions, but obviously points lost for errors. Occasionally I’ve been given a small plus score for a wrong answer, even on the first move - must have been a decent try. I meant Brian last post with his 70% |

Anyone playing me right now i will not be at my usual speed from about 0845 until tomorrow due to bike racing and birthdays. Not saying I won't be making moves but it will be slower than normal.

Our 960 match vs Livingston County has just finished with me scrambling a draw, so that’s a 9.5-6.5 win for Fetch 960 Team A. Well done 960-ers, I hope we enjoyed trying out this format? We are now ranked 2287 in chess.com ranks, with potential to rise when our last couple of current matches finish off their last 2 games each. |

I’m a bit undecided about 960. Pawn and rook gifts aside, I seem to spend the first 10 moves untangling my pieces into some semblance of development and coordination. Sort of like chess but including the bit where you have to set up the board before you start. I’m sure it must be good for me though ![]() |

I suppose it's a bit rude to LOL but these positions were reached in a pair of 960 games against the same opponent! My move in both cases.....can you guess what happened next? Separated by several days. |

Qxa2 and Qxa7 both look like they’d cause some headaches.

![]() The latter is a bit more involved as Nd7 holds the rook, at least in the short term. But black is still in a bad way with bishops potentially coming to g4 and b4, etc. That rook hasn't left its original square, of course. I'd been lining up that pawn for a while... |

New Fetch Match against our now much bigger ex-opponents 1A1 who challenged us. Looking at their recent Daily Matches, I think they’ll get about 15-20 players but with lots ranked 800-1100. It’s 3 days per move, but both games start at the same time. Start date Sunday 12th Sept, link here: chess.com |
