In better news we fly to Barcelona tomorrow for some sun and paella. Haven't been for a couple of years but it's a regular haunt. I was going to say it's good to have travel flexibility but we accidentally booked in the half term holidays 🙄

Just waved goodbye to my parents who've been to stay for the weekend. I realise that it's an immense privilege to be retired and to be able to type that. Had to pinch myself though when *they* took to asking me 'what do you do all day'? LOL! |

I'm enjoying the conversations at work from my soon to be former colleagues. A lot! ![]() After answering the "What are you going to do all day?" type questions, I've realised I'm far to busy to come to work. 🤣🤣🤣 |

Anyone recognise this? Mine lasted about 3-4 years. I started work as an ambitious tyro on a mission. Then settled in - no longer burning with ambition, it had its moments but was OK generally and I jogged along for 10-12 years. Then stress and pressure amped up fivefold (due to an accounting scandal). I kind of reached that stage, done with this shit, but can’t leave…..but they put a voluntary scheme out in 2019….i ran the numbers and couldn’t get out quick enough once I realised I could. Great day, great decision. |

Sigh
Yes, we were only talking about this earlier. Mine began in 2015, accelerated in 2018, finally got out in '23. No chance of VR, had to wait for pension access!

Yep, I hear ya. Done with work for sure. Just the small matter of necessary expenditure to sort out. Realistically going to be at least another 2 and possibly as many as 5 years. More’s the pity…
