I'd agree with Dvorak; if you're getting consistently sore hands on non-technical terrain from 90mins riding, it's probably worth having a look at your position. Even if you're not comfortable riding fully no handed, you should be reasonably able to unweight the bars without feeling like your body is going to topple forward.

Thank you everyone. There’s some food for thought there. I’ll assess my position although I’m not sure how much adjustment I can make on my handlebar stem.
Certainly the bar ends seem to be an affordable option if I can’t modify my riding position.

LG, I have a cover similar to this amazon.co.uk which is new and surplus. If it’s of any use fmail me and I’ll put it in the post. I don’t want anything for it.
I ordered it from eBay, but it never arrived and was given a refund. I ordered another from Amazon, which I now use. A few weeks later the eBay one arrived. They didn’t want me to return it, just give them a good review.

Two bike rides in one day for me.

Out with a friend in the morning. Great cycle apart from me cycling into a parked van! It left a narrow gap on path and I obviously was overthinking it and I steered into it! I was going slow so no damage to me or van. What an affront though! :)

Then back out in afternoon with niece. Was her longest cycle and no mishaps. Coffee for me & cake for her at end so all good.

So bike now been used four times since I bought it in late September!

I’m glad nothing was hurt or damaged by your collision.

Coffee and cake is a good end to a ride. 😀

I had a longer ride (21 miles) yesterday to try and reduce the deficit against my target of 1,000 miles for the year. Today, I reduced my target to 600 miles!

I had a near miss on a country road when an articulated forestry lorry was negotiating an s-bend and left me a spare 6 inches to squeeze through.

I reckon I must be the slowest cyclist around here. I just don't seem to be able to keep up with anyone. Generally, I don't mind because I am out to enjoy the countryside and the weather but I do find it a bit frustrating.

I really don't like it when e-bike cyclists zip past up a hill without breaking into a sweat.

If you’re the slowest XB, then you’re the joint slowest with me. My last ride is almost identical to yours.
