Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Well done for your long run GG.
Thanks for your kind comments. I've tried to do constructive training over the years, which is what I think has kept me going.

Well done LL for getting out and running this morning. We all go through patches where we lose our mojo's, and would rather do something else instead.

No parkrun today, but did a chatty 5k road run with a running friend. Nice and sunny 🌞, but still a cold 🥶 wind.

Afternoon all. It’s absolutely glorious here, so warm my top came off for part of the run! I wore my new bargain trainers that I got last week and if I could I’d go back for another pair they’re fabulous (inov8 parkclaw)

Matchy matchy for my flanci skort and run bright top!

I did 7.5, scuppered on my fast mile attempt as I ran out of path and had to run a grass verge and jumping off and on when cars were coming but it was a fab run.

As hs said LL we all go through these patches, but ride with it you’ll soon be back you’ve had a very busy year.

A nice social chatty 5k sounds great hs.

Well done GG, running 7.5 miles in your new trainers.

This mornings run was enjoyable, with no pressure. I wore my previous newest trainers. I'll try to alternate them, which according to " the experts," makes them last longer.

I agree with alternating trainers other than my old old vibrams I rarely run in a pair 2 days in a row.

I never alternated my shoes until I bought my last pair. Discussions on here and at home and I decided to alternate them because the souls still look very good but I know the bounce is lacking a bit now.

Positively sunny and even warm there gg and I was ready to avert my eyes when you said you'd taken your top off!!! Great running you're doing and those trainers hit the mark then, look pretty good too.

But of a different with chill still with you Lesley , good to have done a different route which can always give us a bit extra oomph

Those new trainers must be itching to burn some rubber FF, you're still doing steady good mileage. Fingers crossed that May is dry and you're not tempted to be thwarted by rainy days!
Alternating trainers, apart from maybe making them last longer (?) is supposed to be beneficial for the body by slightly varying gait, foot plant and so less strain in the same place all the time.
Hope that "chore feeling" lifts LL.
Arghh...hip twinge has, after all returned so a measly but enjoyable mile in this morning's drizzle. I'm somewhat of a fraud on this thread I fear.

You’re still running when and what you can Steve so no frauding fears needed.

And that is also a good point re alternating trainers. I did add my 2 new pairs to my kit list and I seem to have more in use trainers than is strictly necessary. Oops

Sorry to hear that the hip twinge has returned Steve. Well done for the mile, nothing fraudulent about that.

No running today, just a brisk walk there and back to the supermarket to buy a paper. 🚶‍♂️
