Run with old running club buddy done. Nice to have some company for a change. I put an extra little loop down to the weir and she spotted a kingfisher sat there, always lovely to see one. heart :)

Rest day here. I have 2 days off before starting new job. Inevitably filled with endless admin tasks left until the very last moment :-)

um 🎄
Good luck with the 'closing out' and then the new job CStar.

Here, what a difference a day makes. Today is cold & foggy. Very cold. And very foggy.
And Off Roader’s motivation seems to have sagged. When I suggested a run, she just said ‘I’ve done my miles, I can have a rest day’ … 😉

So I went alone. Southern Wiltshire hills rather than New Forest. And more pics, I’m afraid.
Starting with some scenic views from the top. Firstly, looking back over Southampton, Fawley & the (Tier 1) Isle of Wight.

(for those who do Treasure Hunt, what do you mean, ‘you can’t see 3 ships sailing up Solent Water ?’

Secondly, looking the other way, Salisbury and the spire.

Anyway, onwards and some wild life. No deer to be seen though.

Then into the really chilly bit. Luckily I stopped to take this pic of the frozen trees, when there was a crack and a few crashing noises

I was standing just the other side of the gate. This, although it doesn’t look much, but was 20–30ft long and 5-6 inches thick and came down a long way. A little twig compared to some of the branches, but I was very glad to be the right side of the gate and not in the beech avenue.

I didn’t hang about too long, but it was very pretty,

Less than 50 miles to go ….

Crikey Um! That would smart if you were underneath it! 😱 Glad you weren’t! Lovely, spooky photos. Just to be perverse, the sun is shining here.

It was sunny when we left East Devon this morning but the closer we got to Cheltenham the murkier it got. The fog has just got thicker so we've lit the log burner and I'm having a day off running!

Especially as I have just entered a virtual Half this weekend :-0 I'm hoping my RtS fitness will get me round, and there's no pressure. You take 2 minutes off your time for wearing a Santa hat, 2 minutes off for eating a mince pie, and so on :-)
