My sunflowers have been totally pathetic - never made it quite as far as 3 feet. I am in awe of everyone else's!

At last, actual picture of my sunflowers.



Nearly as tall as a sycamore tree! Much taller than mere houses.



There are actually five sunflowers here - the other two are nigh invisible behind the occluded pane of the greenhouse. The ones you can see spent most of their time in the greenhouse. None of them, admittedly, look a picture of health leafwise.

OK - this years Competition.

The Roolz

1. Begins when you can
2. Ends when your sunflower start to fade
3. Biggest one wins

4. Disasters are to be posted so we can all laugh/commiserate/laugh at them

5. All forms of growing aids are allowed. There's no drug testing in this competition so if you find the Lance Armstrong of Sunflowers - grow it and win !

6. Bigleggy always wins ;-)
7. As the national flower of Ukraine is the Sunflower, the Russian Giant variety is banned.
