Mine are doing well but we are moving house soon so no idea if they will survive the move or not.

I've bought seeds! Hoping to sow them this weekend. Found my old seed trays (remarkably stored clean), so that is a start.

I'm really hoping my plants survive spending the next 3 weeks at my Dad's so they are ready for planting out when we get home from our holiday.

How are we all doing?

I'm off the blocks. I started late enough to go straight to outdoors and I've reared a batch of dwarf sunflowers and medium tall red sunflowers past the seed leaf stage.

I’ve got 2 that have survived so far and are doing quite well. They didn’t get blown over in last weeks strong winds.. One was a “back up” seed planted into the ground when I planted out the original seedlings of which only 1 out of 4 survived.

OK - this years Competition.

The Roolz

1. Begins when you can
2. Ends September 4th
3. Biggest one wins

4. Disasters are to be posted so we can all laugh/commiserate/laugh at them

5. All forms of growing aids are allowed. There's no drug testing in this competition so if you find the Lance Armstrong of Sunflowers - grow it and win !

6. Bigleggy always wins ;-)
7. As the national flower of Ukraine is the Sunflower, the Russian Giant variety is banned.
