These pretty ones look more like teapot stands.
I just caught up with Gardeners World and Monty's going to be experimenting with trays and pots made of things other than plastic whenever he can. Could be interesting.

I agree they are pretty!!
Pinterest has lots of pots that decompose as the plant grows - you can even get kit to help make paper pots

Degradable paper pots don't need to be complicated; I make them with newspaper wrapped around a bottle of an appropriate size. Great for veg seeds you are starting indoors and then planting out. Especially things that don't like their roots disturbing.
But plastic pots are almost endlessly re-useable so shouldn't be a massive pollution problem.

We do the same as jacdaw with paper pots - we wrap the newspaper round a small redbull bottle and fasten with a paperclip. Sadly, the plastic coated paper clips can be re-used for ever, but the metal ones rust easily.

Annoyed today. I needed some white vinegar to use for cleaning. As I was at Tesco anyway I bought some from there. 568ml plastic bottle 39p. 568ml glass bottle £1.

I've discovered the milk man delivers up to 3 times a week. I just need to check he delivers before 6.30 as leaving it on the step all day on work days rather defeats the object.
