Afternoon! I parkran this morning. I knew it had been a while since I actually ran my home parkrun - turns out it was April 7th!! I took it slowly, chatting with a friend for the first lap. It was chilly, and likely to be even more so tomorrow, so now I'm in two minds what to wear for the race tomorrow. I'd rather be cold to start rather than too warm at the end I think.

Parkrun pacing this morning, and then some navigational turniptude. I plotted a route back from parkrun which would scoop up some annoying blank squares on WSW. Since it's about 3 miles to parkrun, I thought it would be about 3.5 with the wiggles I needed to get the squares.
Well, I got talked into breakfast at the pub before setting off, which I didn't realise was a mile in the wrong direction, then I got confused and ran much further than I needed down an unfamiliar road and had to retrace my steps - when if I'd just carried on for about 200m that road would have spat me out right where I needed to be.

I put in a very slow and quite difficult 21.6k today - new post-injury record There was quite a lot of stopping, especially on hills but at least I put in the distance. Now it is officially time to diversify - work on speedwork and hills as well as distance and plan that Spring marathon....

Fitter ITG - what are you up to? All year we've been bumping along around the *redheart* line. Last 2-3 weeks you've shot off.
I had a mixed temp run today - in the sun and out of the wind, it was great, fantastic Forest colours. In the shade, or in the wind, very cold.
Chose this one to share - over ponies, donkies (ok, donkeys), or puddles

Um, I started the year off very, very slowly - running 1 min, walking 1 min, etc. I don't think I even got my red heart until about July. My plan was to be able to run a half marathon before the year-end - and I've made it a few weeks early. WSW is also helping me put more miles in as I didn't always bother logging a 3k job to crossfit and back.

I've still 25km to go but I thought you might appreciate our new, artistic bench.

LG and pot hunter 222 parkruns; RRRR 200 parkruns. ITG congratulations on having caught up and overtaken yourself.
10 mile race duly marshalled; sky was blue, sun shone on my "patch". 1st lady was very impressive, 4th overall when she came past me, I think 5th overall by the end.
