I have just spent an hour digging in the poly tunnel - trying to get rid of mare's tails, which have invaded. I fear it is a battle in which I am destined to be heavily defeated.

Gardening club tomorrow after school so we have some rocket, spinach, lettuce, radish and mixed flower seeds to plant, as well as a few potatoes to add to the ones that have already sprung up.

Oh no, mare's tails :-( we have ground elder here, and as it comes through from next door, there is not much I can do.

I was feeling quite pleased with my specimens until I saw Alice the Camel's. I think my spare seedlings will have to be planted in a new location this weekend to give me the best chance, I have two days to come up with the perfect place, slinks away to contemplate this most important of decisions.

Mine haven't germinated :-( Might plant some more as we were growing them at school to get the seeds.

Bear in mind that I planted mine in March when bigleggy first blogged, and they've gone a bit spindly and (ahem) leggy whilst in their little pots.
