McGoo, my garden isn't huge - they have a corner of it (which they have destroyed) and it gives them plenty of room. We do let them out if we're out there to keep an eye on them.

Happy anniversary Molesy and Knitwit, nice photo 23 years for us in a couple of weeks, I'm still waiting for my medal... I have a really sore throat, which is annoying, and even more annoying because I'm supposed to have a 10k race this evening. I'll probably do it anyway.

Same here on the chooks, I had 4 of them and my garden is pretty small, I had bantams and they are little as well. Or you could get some quail or something?

I'd like chickens but have been overruled so far! Happy anniversary molesey and knitwit, lovely pic.
Someone mentioned shin splints - I used to get them until I switched to forefoot striking rather than heel - on the advice of a physio - so possibly worth considering. Running style may change so it's worth checking you have the right trainers every now and again at a proper running shop. Here endeth the egg sucking lesson!
