Joe1970 3 Feb 5:55pm, 3 Feb 2024 100 posts	0 Joe1970 I had to pull out of the event this weekend It's been a rough few days at home and I just couldn't justify leaving my wife and son for two days and a night. I'm sad about that, because I was really looking forward to it...but not as sad as I'd be if I was stuck away from home and something bad happened. First race I've ever entered and not run, and of course its the expensive one! But life happens, and there will be other chances, and the training I've done will be a good base for a first road marathon attempt in April. I did a bit of a route reccy last weekend from Redhill to Box Hill, so I know that's a tough bit of trail, NDWDave! Hopefully everyone made it to the end of day one, I'll keep an eye out for reports!

Maybe too many cows?...But yes, right thing to bail out on this occasion. Very much keeping an eye on this thread, lots of useful tips. I'm liking, in particular, "complete not compete", to walk before you have to walk, and to eat more!
