We have two Maine Coons and one in particular gets very knotted and hates being groomed. We have had pretty good results with the Mikki Dog and Cat Mat breaker/tangle remover - but it's two person job (one to dole out treats and strokes, while the other works), and it can take quite a few sessions! We have got around 8 different grooming tools/brushes!
