After putting away the shopping I prepared a meal to go in the slow cooker for this evening. Is it me, or do most of these slow cooker recipes take as long if not longer to prepare than it does to make a regular meal? It better bloody taste good. I also noticed an omission in the recipe I was following - You have to marinate the beef in beer for 30 minutes before removing the meat and patting it dry with kitchen paper. It says to reserve 150ml of the beer, but it never tells you what to do with it? I put it in the slow cooker as I think that was what was intended. I could have drunk it, I guess, but it didn't really appeal that much. I must be going soft.
