Husband and I played Castle Panic last week. I enjoyed it so much more than Munchkin Panic, largely because you can actually rebuild the castle after bits of it get knocked down by enemies.

We also played Forbidden Desert, but didn't enjoy it as much as we used to.

Does anyone know why the beginner's board layout changed?
In an older edition, the desert was in the middle and the starting points for all players covered access to all the resources and nobody began with a port.
In the one we have now, the desert is on the side and one player has access to all resources (blue) but white and orange don't, plus blue and orange start with a port and white doesn't.

We'll probably try people placing their own starting settlements next time, but the new beginner layout seems unbalanced.

We played the starting layout that you describe Carpathius. Suggested to the mini VJs that they didn't choose white - one went for orange and came last, one went for red and came second. I ended up with blue and won - which I haven't done for a long time in this game. I agree that the starting positions are not all equal. Next time we play we'll go for our own staring positions I think...

Played Labyrinth, a Harry Potter themed game. Suitable for youngish children (age 7 - 99) but our 20 year olds and my wife and i found it enjoyable and needing a bit of thought, particularly towards the end. Basically you use the spare tile to shove one out of the other end of the row and change the paths. YOu have 6 characters that you need to end your move on. Picture and Rules below. Easy to understand and play.
