We didn't think in 2019 that we'd not ski again until 2023. Four years older for the very old (my dad turns 80 this year) means we've lost one from the usual party as he's not happy to risk spring snow these days, and the youngest as a 14yo will want a very different ski school experience than the 10yo had. But relieved to be heading back, even if it is still quite a way away in April. Tignes for us, which looks pretty snowy at the moment. Fingers crossed for no early April heatwave or snow sucking winds! |

I’m in La Plagne. Two absolutely amazing days with perfect snow, blue skies and quiet slopes, yesterday we barely queued for a lift. However it has been so so cold, never skied in as cold conditions. Les Arcs yesterday seemed a fair bit warmer than La Plagne but that’s relative, I never removed any layers or uncovered my face. The trek back from the Vanoise got me so chilled it took me an age to warm up. Final day today, think we may ski a little less hard and stop more often. |

Also, if you’re holidaying with friends I can recommend the Splittr app. Rather than fussing about with paying individually, or trying to work out whose turn it is to pay, one persons pays then pop the details on the app and at the end of the week it tells you who owes who. With 8 of us this is a game changer, especially as sometimes rounds aren’t all 8. (We used to have a cash kitty for drinks/coffee but it’s much easier to pay by card these days)

Glad you had a great time Meglet. Very cold here too but haven't seen much sun in 2 weeks yet. I'm happy enough getting out for a couple of hours in the mornings. |
