Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

thanks chaps, perhaps the run came out on the OK end of things from a pace perspective (would hope to get quicker over the next month) but it felt all wrong. All those layers, gloves, hats, etc can't help.

Yeah, great k reps there Baz. Good to see progress. PtB: that's got to be very encouraging hasn't it? You could well be in great form come April as it seems everything is positive right now. Also good to see you back at it consistently Tizer, I'm sure it won't be long until those stats improve.

Curly - you know what I dislike most about these temps is that you have to wrap up but then the sweating in the layers is unavoidable. Maybe I've got the wrong baselayer, maybe it's an excuse to spend more money on more kit. Yum!

Layers, schmayers.

Hi folks - been a while. I almost retired back there last year with a hip/abdominal problem I shouldn't have trained for the Manchester marathon with, but it has (nearly, touch wood) gone and I have almost jogged my way back to respectable running condition. No marathons planned for a while but I've missed trying to keep up with you lot so I'm going to stick around while you all get in top spring shape. I'll try and read back 10,000 posts soon to see what you've all been up to :)

Yay! Its been too long (since we saw that photo ;-)).

Even by your standards abdou, that was quite a mileage slump last year. Sorry that it was injury rather than wandering mojo. We look forward to your executive summary of the last 10,000 posts.

Yep, welcome back Abdou. I remember you 'disappearing', us all wondering about you, then stalking your low 3:0x and hoping that you would come back.

Now you do with THAT photo. Lucerne wasn't it? I'm never going there!

Thanks for feedback on the intervals, I was pleasantly surprised and although I haven't checked back I think they are in line with the best reps I have run....and that was with me feeling I was holding back a bit as I hadn't done them for a while. Kept pressing lap and looking at split and thinking wow, next ones gonna bite back...but they didn't quite

Abdou, that is a top photo, just shows how mental we runners are. Folk always ask me if I run in the current conditions. If they only knew some of the even worse conditions I have run in.....

My Bostons arrived today and so the obligatory weigh in on the kitchen scales. Thought I'd share with you as I am now the owner of 4 pairs of adidas boosts in different versions. UK size 7:

Supernova sequence 8: 289g
Supernova sequence 7: 277g
Boston 5: 221g
Adios: 209g

Interesting that they managed to increase the weight of my normal everyday training shoes between versions. Also that the Boston is barely heavier than the adios but feels quite a bit more supportive.

Off out for my own frosty 14 now. ❄️❄️❄️ So no more inane posts for at least 2 hours.

Sure one of my pairs of f-lites are 190g... the old Puma H streets were about 150g, they were my absolute favourites. Like slippers....ah (reminisces fondly).

It was Lucerne, WW - every year I'm not there it's glorious sunshine, apparently! PtB - very glad to see you're back from your own (less predictable) slump. Can you sum it up in one handy post? I've so much to catch up on it might all have to wait for my next hiatus...
