Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

I generally get between 400-600m out of mine. I retire them as soon as i've no rubber left at the big toe as that's what tends to wear away the fastest...
Nice time on feet 24m this morning fuelled by honey stinger energy chews (5) which seemed to keep me going fine until the end. Just the usual last mile slump as my mind knows i'm close but not finishing quick enough ;-)

Good to see the thread in full swing with the tempos, intervals and hill sessions. Remember it's still early days so don't worry about pace, it'll come in time :)

Even though I also haven't raced much I don't think a pair of race shoes is really much of an extravagance as (a) they last for a long time and (b) due to having them, I'm happy to buy cheap (somewhat heavy) shoes for training - and these are the ones that are getting worn out and replaced.

im lucky if I get 400 miles on neutral trainers, even less on racing shoes. I usually find the sole of one of my shoes disappears quickly. everyone is different and adapt to various shoes.

I change my running shoes when the soles feel dead. When I wore heavier shoes it was 600 to 700 miles, now with lighter shoes, around 500.

Think all the UAE marathons are Friday's? Is that not the weekend in UAE?

Run fast.

Yeah, all the best snayak, leave it all out there.

First lot of intervals for ages for me, 10 * 400m ( on a forest track in the dark with headtorches, still a little snow in patches, very slight downhill ), happy with consistency, all between 1:25 and 1:30. I'll take that at the end of a 75 mile 7 day period

I'd also not thought about the difference in the weekend of the Gulf States, apologies Snayak. Good luck, commit to the final target and go for it.

Great training block Gus - that intervals session sounds novel!

I'm saying nothing about the Mcr course re-design. Nothing.
