Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Yes, that was what I was thinking. Maybe this one might not do so well with the ladies (if male - not sure), but is able to feed OK without being chased away by the other birds.

Got a great Christmas Eve Bittern spot with c-cat at Brandon 😀 and Whooper Swans too.

Back today with Dave - male Common Scoter; first one there since 2005 allegedly. Now that is a black bird! (Apart from the bill obvs!)

I read that as you calling Dave a male common Scoter, i expect he's had worse.

This photo, not mine, was taken last night at Attenborough Nature Reserve of the Starling murmuration (about 3.45pm)

I spoke too soon! A squirrel has now worked out how to defeat my anti-squirrel mechanism, after a week of trying (if it's the same squirrel, not sure). They really are impressively resourceful little creatures. I have a new idea as to how to defeat this particular approach. We'll see how that plays out...

I saw a red squirrel running along a fence a couple of days ago on the Isle of Wight, too quick for me to get a photo, very cute. :)

Foul day in our part of the world today. Apart from a few crows and magpies I barely remember seeing a bird today

The new year sun seems to have brought the birds out here today, the 2019 list had over 30 ticks on it by the time I got back from my morning run and I haven't been and scanned the res with the bins yet :-)
