Saw a dipper today. Had finished parkrun and was standing on the bridge waiting for the family to come in so was watching the river, and a sole dipper in the middle of the river making loads of noise. Lovely birds.

Lots of birds this morning, including my favourite green woodpeckers laughing at me :)

(We almost had pheasant for lunch as there was one hiding under my car on the drive - Ralph didn't quite get around the other side quick enough to catch it)

Local green woodys must be great. Fancy a trade for a few days for one of our Worth valley dippers? :-)

So haven’t seen the otter or fox that’s been around but were treated to 10 minutes of an ermine running around the garden. Got some lovely pictures as well.

We've had a leucistic goldfinch visiting the feeders in the last couple of days. No large white areas but just a kind of white highlighting throughout - very striking. Never seen one before.

You’d think leucistic birds wouldn’t last five mins but seem to do okay
