I like dippers but haven't seen one for a few years. All our rivers are up to the top at the moment so I don't know where I could go to find one.

Shallow streamy water and rocks to perch on / dive off :-) Trout streams ideally. I caught three wild brown last summer half a mile upstream of my photo fish

I've never seen a dipper but I've seldom been near that sort of stream. No kingfisher either.

Definitely need more hillside walks I think. think I'm either up in the mountains or along the seafront. Plenty of places with nice streams and brooks, just need to get searching.

DT is right, they have to be reasonably shallow as well as fast-flowing.
