Lee, I've always gone for plan A and am generally surprised by the pace I can hold on that session. Just make sure the recovery in-between is generous.
Thanks for the info JDA, makes me feel a little happier with the time, running across flooded lanes was fun and it turns out the vaporflys are useless on wet grass!
I had considered pacing duties for York but I have the kids that weekend now so I can only give virtual support.

4x10 mins came out at 3:46/k pace which is very fast by my standards and way ahead of where I was 6 weeks ago. Despite a somewhat blustery wind and some squally showers. Magic shoes doing their stuff for me again. Really is feet up time now though!

sounds like you finding your form at just the right time JDA. That's a great pace to be hitting.

I have a similar session this weekend JDA, 4 x 12 mins. I am considering taking it to the treadmill though as i haven't done a long threshold in a while.

Thanks for advice guys regarding my last real effort session before next Sundayโs marathon!
Anyhoo, as you can see with the piece of paper, I didnโt follow the plan fully. I also did it on a treadmill!
Overall happy to get it done and looking back on how I felt, I probably could have done all 1600m parts at 5k pace! ๐ง
Glad to be done with the hard sessions and long runs and crossing my fingers I turn up next week fully fit (physically and mentally!) ๐ฌ
Marathon training is testing and no matter how many times I do it, I can never really relax and get rid of the nerves and settle until after the race! I suppose when you put in 18 weeks commitment, the least you expect back is some kind of return!?
Anyway enough of the negatives!
WW - So we heading out at 6:40 pace then!? ๐๐ปโโ๏ธ๐ค๐

Itโs the key workout for anyone who wants to hit their marathon target! ๐ You survive 8 Milfโs in an hour session, all of a sudden 26.2 miles will be a doddle! ๐

Risky marathon training strategy, could resulting in bonking.
