Does this work with Fenix 6 as well.I will test it out on next run as I don't normally stand for 2 minutes before saving activity.

You can probably check if you have it WP, by stop an activity, and scroll down on the save screen to see if you have recovery HR as an option.

Yes. Older watches like the 645 (IMS) display the recovery HR automatically after two minutes. Newer ones save it at two minutes but don't automatically display it. When you've stopped the activity, scroll down the list of options and you'll see recovery HR. Press start and it'll show you current HR and count down to when it saves it. Back out of that page and save it.

I routinely log the recovery HR by waiting the required two minutes, and runalyze reports it when it has been captured, but it's not showing on the GC app for me nonetheless. Wouldn't surprise me at all if Garmin limits how the app shows it depending on the watch owned, they do that routinely for features which are actually recorded by the watch or stored in the .fit file; that was the reason I started using runalyze after I think Badger pointed me in that direction with my old watch a few years ago.

Would be interested to see if you see it on the GC website view too Badger? It's not on the website view for me either, which fits with my presumption that it is enabled on a watch-model specific basis.

Snip from runalyze showing it against some runs (a few where I didn't stop long enough for the metric to be recorded too).

Website view of the HM run with only the avg and max shown.

Yes I do. Annoying of Garmin if so, devices have been logging that for ages.

Yep, looks like it's Garmin being Garmin.

Epix/ios was it. It used to be (maybe on a 310) that the watch would ask you to keep still for 2 mins straight after pressing stop. Maybe it is only on those occasions that it saves a reading. I stopped pretty dead after a recent race :)
