Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Thanks for the advice Maclennane / COTH, and that wildfood website looks interesting.

I find flicking through the mushroom books very confusing - you flick through trying to identify something and see what looks like an edible or harmless one, and then over the page is a photo of a poisonous one which, quite frankly, could be the same mushroom from a different angle..!

Why there seems to be no relationship between which football team has 'possession' most and which one wins, OR why the statistic exists if it's not relevant.

I just never understood football. The result of all that running around always seems so random and, indeed, it must be pretty random as The Pools players gamble on it. Perhaps there's something like Schrödinger's Cat about a game-it's both won and lost until you open it and look when the whistle is blown? 😂

Are toasters as dangerous as they appear with red-hot, live wires in places you have a legitimate need to put your fingers?

If you turn up to a traditional Irish (or Scottish I guess) music session and call something that doesn't have words a song rather than a tune, you'll instantly earn the scorn of all present.

Why do you only ever see one discarded shoe or boot at the side of the road? What happened to the other one?
