I am looking to joining a tri club at the moment, and one of the reasons that I have chosen the one that I have is that they run in a different XC league from my road club and so I shall be able to race more!
Why are you changing clubs Hann?

Enjoyed the Lasswade Open X Country today. Incredibly wet and muddy underfoot. Think my time might be slightly slowerthan last year (when I was hoping for 1-2 mins faster) but I think that wading through mud must have slowed things down a bit.
In fact, can you even compare times in XCountry when conditions, hills etc. vary so much from race to race?

I ran two minutes slower on a course that I had run before today and I am sure that I ran better than last time. It was just that conditions were so much worse.

thanks bigmunnki. i'll have to assume that was the case! I'm sure I'm quicker now than I was a year ago. lovely run tho. brilliant course, beautiful day and a great event. just my time was a bit grrr!
and what's the scoop with distances at xc? 10K = anywhere from 4.8 miles to 6.3 (today's garmin reading).

Happy
No way to compare really, today I finished higher than I did at the same race last year but was 12 seconds slower when I know I am a lot faster

In our league it seems to be three laps of whichever park we are in, which they always call 10k.
Which would suggest that all parks must be the same size!!
