Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Do any other Fetchies have trouble finding jeans, chinos, etc., to fit their - ahem - athletic legs?

I am 5'11'' and about 12 stones. I wear 32 waist 34 leg in most brands. I am finding it very difficult to find kecks that fit waist and length without being so tight in the calves that they stick to me when I sit down and therefore stay at half-mast when I stand up again!

I'm a dad-jean age so I don't want skinny low-waist styles anyway, but even "regular" fit causes trouble in most brands.

You are not alone. Everything these days seems made for people with legs like pipecleaners.

Makes me think I really do have short legs though. I am also 5 ft 11, 12 stone, 32in waist, but 31 leg. Suspect the problem is that 32in waist means teens/twenties rather than 'comfort' fit...

Years ago I did wearer trials for M&S suppliers. I was lucky because I'm a very average size and a lot of what I wear fitted in with their samples for testing

34 waist / 31 leg trousers

40 reg in jackets

15.5 collar shirts

Medium in S M L XL

9 - 10 in socks and shoes

34 waist are a bit big now but I haven't changed much in 30 years. Low rise trousers are my pet hate. Oh, and short, over tight tailored jackets

I don't wear jeans as I don't plan to do any mining or other hard manual labour because I'm retired 😉

I have a couple of pairs of these:

whitestuff.com

I find them a bit tight around the quads, but I don't mind that - and never noticed any calf tightness.

I tried Spoke chinos as they claim to have a huge range of fits but even their "Build C" for wide thighs usually come up too tight in the calves.

I'll have a look at Whitestuff. Thanks fetcheveryone
