This seems to be a thing. The Hoka Skyward X is similarly too stacked to be legal. It looks like an overblown version of the Bondi X, a shoe I quite liked for long distance training trundles, so perhaps this is filling that gap in their range. |

Dragonfly 2 is out. Looks like minimal changes but I'm intrigued by the slightly wider midfoot and forefoot as I felt like the XC version fit me better than the standard version. nike.com |

That's another Dev shoe that disappeared so hopefully the theory of disappearing = imminent release is correct. I've just noticed there's a Dev 15 which is a modified AF3, guess the elite wants some improvement in time for the Olympics? Would mean it would need to be released as development shoes aren't allowed at the Olympics or WCs if I read things correctly. I believe Sagasu Running mentioned this shoe on their YT channel but I'd forgotten. |

Apparently the numbers are letters for Nike so 19062 is SF2 so Streakfly 2 It seems Dev 15 will be an Alphafly Elite based on that which fits with an improvement on the AF3 in time for the Olympics. Wonder how they bring that to the market and whether it is released as the Alphafly Elite. |

Well, I finally got my hands on the AF3s, just befor I left for my next marathon. Having raced in them literally straight out of the box (nothing new on race day, eh?) and got a shiny new PB, I can only encourage everyone else not to buy them, as they're heavy, ugly, slow, uncomfortable and you'd be better off without them... (seriously though, no blisters, perhaps the first super shoe I've forgotten I was wearing, apart from the noise)

Impressive PB, AJLB. Well done ![]() I'm undecided about my footwear for my next marathon. I've been trying out some VF Next% and they're nice and light and comfortable and more secure than the 4% on rough underfoot surfaces, but I don't think they're as fast as the 4%. In the meantime, I scavenged a pair of lightly pre-used Saucony Endorphin Elite from Marketplace and I like them a lot. I'm going to give them a whirl on an upcoming 10k and then decide whether to use them or break into a new pair of VF 4% for the marathon. Five years ago today I ran my first marathon in supershoes. Things have come on so much since then. |

Nice PB AJLB. New shoes on race day?! Even I didn't risk that with the new pair of Reeboks I unboxed for the relays were given a couple of miles before race day just in case. Velociraptor do stats from runs show a difference? |

I haven't done enough comparable runs in each of them to be certain, SPR. Bottom line, it probably doesn't matter much, but I know from experience that the VF4% are comfortable over marathon distance.

Interesting prototype (On Cloudboom Strike LS Dev 1) that Helen Obiri wore to win Boston yesterday. Lack of laces, and seems to come quite high up the ankle - looks an absolute nightmare to get on and off, but very "clean" lines |
