Are you into pottery too PinLady? Keith cry count week 2: 3, nearly went for an extra one but he managed to pull it back I thought the buildings were exceptionally good, working with tall slabs like that is really difficult. Couldn’t work out why Alon went with the slip on bisque when he knew it would crack and fall off, but I guess they’re keeping him in hoping for crazy ideas which are always fun to see...

Oh hello I found this series this week and today I find this thread I’ve never done any pottery and know nothing about the technicalities, but I do love watching beautiful things being created and gasping in wonder that people can do it

Pottery is great because it is such a vast subject including everything from intricate painting to sculpture. You could spend a century studying it and still have lots to learn. Lots of chemistry and physics involved as well as art

I'm a bit of a secret potter, I love to throw but my building is atrocious! I've done quite a lot of Raku and have bits I've made all round my house. I love watching this series some inspiring designs. Cant wait for next episode and I think the right person went last week too.

Ooh that’s exciting D2, secret potting! Do you have your own wheel? I’d love to try raku, it looks like a lot of fun! Let’s all blog our creations shall we? I’ve probably posted a few things but not my latest ones. Might make blogadawing a little more creative

I dont currently have a wheel I had to get rid of it to make space for business use but watching the series has made me want to start again. Raku is fun and a bit scary but good if you dont mind the odd disaster! I'll try to get round to taking a photo or two.

The Pin Lady
I am really enjoying the thrown down. It's lovely to have some positive stuff to watch and these people are so creative. Would love to have a go so might venture over to our local potters once the restrictions are over. My Dad took a pottery class when he retired and came up with some lovely stuff - completely out of the blue.

Finally caught up! What a lovely bunch of people and such (mostly) great creations
I used to do pottery years ago but always preferred moulds or handbuilding. I did a one-off course on the wheel 18 months ago but I was a bit ropy.

For me throwing on the wheel feels like swimming: I could probably only master it with an intensive course. I’ve tried twice and it was disastrous and stressful!
