Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

My Fenix 5 is also weirdly reluctant to pick up pace under anything at all overhead, sometimes not close overhead, WW

(My old 235 never had this problem - or maps, sadly)

Just checked out the long term forecast for next Sunday. Slight panic as the forecast for tomorrow is a high of 27 degrees. So far the forecast looks good with a high of 21 (which should be long after I am done) but 1-5mm of rain. Not ideal but should be fine.

Tanda results are in - 3 19. The calculator gives a summary of past performances/predictions and it is a bit of a mixed bag for me. I am surprised how optimistic it was for my first marathon (which was an injury plagued sub 4 attempt). It thinks I could have done much better at London in 2010 and is probably right but I didn't know it at the time. I was aiming for 3:45 and ran to pace with no real issues. I beat the prediction by close to 9 minutes last year but that is predominantly due to the training I did for the postponed marathon which this calculator doesn't take into account. I also beat the prediction for the postponed run by 6 minutes and I was in much better shape in Mid August than early October (as indicated nicely by the calculations)

I also think I am in much better shape this year compared to last year so hopefully I can blow this prediction out of the water as well.

All good here, just checked the forecast and it looks like it will be a cold start. Less than 10 degrees! There will be a lot of shivering on the start line.
Two ten km run outs this week and I'll do a shortish run tonight. Volunteering at parkrun tomorrow but I might go for a little jog.

Plan is to go out at 4:33 mins per km pace and try and hold on when it gets tough late in the race.
