I ran parkrun pretty hard this morning in the end just to show one should listen, not copy.

Then, went out for 'lunch' in London near the Nike store. Oh dear, those beers cost me a pair of Zoom Vaporfly 4% on the way home. Yes, the 'sub 2' shoe. Had a jog in them, they surely can't be legal, it's like being on pogo sticks!

Dare I ask how much they set you back?

Interested to hear how different they feel for a runner like you WW.

Ditto on the listening. 19:57 at Barnstaple after 4h30 in the car. HR looked a bit higher than I'd have expected but off lots of caffeine and a long journey I think I can live with that. Something to keep an eye on though.

20ish in the morning on the Tarka trail and then a day lazing on my second favourite beach with the family.

I should be able to get more gear with the compensation Ryanair will be shelling out. 8hr delay as things stand and we are the only folk left in edin airport. Looks like that will be another test day tomorrow as I won't have much energy for running

That sucks Baz. Enjoy it when you do eventually get there.

Managed the 5am alarm in my holiday bed this morning, which in itself is a triumph given I was up at 3:15 yesterday to drive down here.

19 in the bag - 4 warm up, 11 MP, 4 warm down (geography dictated the longer than usual warm down). Plan says 16 with 10 at MP, but extended the MP a bit as I was feeling good. Particularly chuffed with the last three or four miles with finisher HR and faster pace.

Now off to the beach!

Very tidy there Lark, particularly given the travel, timing etc. Things are looking good.

Baz - hope you're reading this from a different country now.

Postie - hope you will google it to save my (drunken) blushes.

21 this morning. As tough as it should have been having been on the sauce yesterday. Looking forward to spicing things up a bit in the week to come. Bored of base miles already!

Anyone elses calves twitch like this? Ignore the noise of my boys being dished out a beach picnic, but you can see the twitches - all involuntary.

It's strangely pleasant to experience, but usually indicates I'll be getting a cramp later.

Regularly get that post marathons, doesn't lead to cramp though.

When you say post marathon, are you saying in the hour or so after? This can last for 24 hours or longer, mostly when the calf muscle is at its most slack. I like to think of it as the muscle doing a bit of recuperation and development.
