Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Nice one Contro - good run. For someone who's been benched for a while.

Seems about right Ben - you should be reducing by 25% each week for the last three weeks. So I'm told...

10km pb yesterday for me. Broke the 34 min barrier. Chuffed as I'm dosed with a head cold and whacking decongestants into me like they're going out of fashion.

Excellent news Contro, any more details? Would you do it again? Course, crowd, organisation etc. Did you run an even race?

Cavehill congratulations on your new pb, well done. What have you been doing that you think has made you improve?

This training block I have lost approx 16lbs and have included strength training which has made me achieve pb's at 5k, 5 mile and 10 mile in the last 2 months. Obviously being lighter and stronger is always gonna help. Just hope I can get sub 2.45 now.

16lbs!!! I am not managing to shed any weight at all!!!! Been eating quite carefully for the last 3 months still no weight loss! maybe those damn beers!!!

Paris, was my 3rd, with a new 2010 course, which i think is flatter (removed some of the undulation at the end), with pretty decent organisation, except for the loos at the start. not enough of them!
Another thing to remember they don't give energy drinks so you have to rely on your own gels ... But before today, it has always been a PB course for me.

hello all. seen varying forecasts for Sunday but its looking like a reasonable probability of a hot one. starting to feel slightly daunted by the prospect of running for an extreme fast time if the temperature peaks up to around 21 degrees or so - probably stoked by my 2007 experience when i ended up in a St Johns tent at the end of the race. any last minute advice / strategies for dealing with any potential heat? think my plan was going to be still to run for sub 2.40 but set a level of the heart rate where if I hit it, be prepared to slow down and switch to a 2.45 target. any thoughts appreciated!
